*****   February 15th will mark three years without the love of my life … and my dear “Valentine!” ****

I think I am safe to say, that most people reading this are either widowed, divorced, unmarried, happily married, and some have what I call, a “lonely” marriage.   I’ve experienced every one of the afore mentioned scenarios.  I even experienced the bonus round of a broken wedding engagement, AFTER the bridal shower!

My experiences with love and relationships in life have afforded me the ability to relate to numerous emotions when it comes to Sweetest Day and Valentines’ Day.  I was blessed with Steve, especially when it came to romance and the feeling of being loved!  I miss that terribly!

I can also relate to the dread of “V-Day” every year!  The TV commercials, the decorations for couples to enjoy, displays in the store of roses made of chocolate!   (I buy them for myself, now! LOL!)  It’s all about expressing your love to someone who is very important to you.  That is a basic need of every human.  To be loved and to love.

So, what happens when you are like me, and do not have a Valentine to express your love to on this special day or any day?

My friend, you have someone who loves you more than anyone in the world.  His name is Jesus!  He longs to sing love songs to you and hear you say those words to Him, “I love you!”

Whenever I get lonely, feeling like I just need to talk with someone who will not judge me, never stop loving me, and will always be my constant companion….I whisper, I love you, Jesus!   I stay quiet for as long as it takes to hear Him whisper it back…and He does!

John 15:13 tells us “Greater love has no one that this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”  Hebrews 13:5 re-assures us that Jesus will never leave you or forsake you.

We are safe to trust our hearts to the one who loves us most!
